The inn Gintoki and the gang are staying at turns out to be a ghost inn where all the stands (ghosts) gather, unable to enter heaven due to their attachment to the living world! Gintoki finds himself left all alone after Shinpachi, Kagura, and Otae are all possessed by stands. The Okami Oiwa explains she was looking for someone tough enough to help run the inn.
